My Mom told me that one of my sister's in law was SO shy that her teacher had to talk to her mom about it. Doesn't sound like Alyssa is THAT shy.

My tips - Call the teacher or go in afterschool. You might get more info about Alyssa that way. Unless the teacher is really smooth and tactful she might make a big scene about it with the other kids. Not knowing how she would handle the situation and what she may say would make me nervous.

Maybe there are some kids that Alyssa likes and you could have a little party or park day with ice cream or something afterschool. Have the mom's come too so you can meet them - Won't you look like the COOL one!

Last thought, shyness is a tough trait to get over (I used to be terrified of making phone calls! I still get a little nervous calling people). You can create situations for Alyssa to stretch her comfort zone a bit -- like have her pay at the grocery store or call a friend or invite someone over, or barrow the sugar from the neighbor ... whatever it may be. Over time accomplishing the little things may relieve some of her shyness.

I'll be in your shoes in a few years. Right now our kids issues are pretty minor - picking nose in public and such! Your a good mom you'll know what to do. My mom's ultimate solution for me when I ask for advice - Pray!idahohubershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08511450911037680129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8698533060356263795.post-40787196512040437782007-09-10T19:14:00.000-07:002007-09-10T19:14:00.000-07:00Great scrapbook pages! I don't think the note to the teacher is desperate. Alyssa would never know, and if it worked, she could come home thinking she "made" new friends and it would build her confidence.Jennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16015165553390298826noreply@blogger.com
