In case you were wondering...

...we are moving!

I think I had mentioned a couple months back that our lease here would be ending at the end of June, and that we would really like to stay, but weren't sure what the owner was going to do as far as the rent. Well, as it turns out, he wants to raise it another $70 which would be a total of $300 in under 3 years. He got away with raising it $75 last July when we renewed. He wanted to raise it $100 but we fought it, trying to get him to only go $50, but he said $75 or leave, and I think he wanted to see if he could get away with it again. But rather than even fight him...we're just leaving. We don't like the rental agency anyway.

So we found another house in the neighborhood, which is a little smaller than what we are currently in, but it has a pool and will be $200 less than what we'd be paying here, come August. The even better news though, is that the pool maintenance is actually included in the price of the rent, which I didn't find out about until I found out we'd been approved. So that was very exciting news! I mean, we would have still been saving around $50 a month, just from what we are currently paying, if we had to hire someone ourselves to come and clean it, but I was very happy to find out that we'll actually be saving more! We are supposed to go back down on July 1st to sign and everything. We won't actually have to be out of this house until July 17th, which will make it easier to clean and such. I'm just hoping our Stimulus rebate check arrives in time, so we have money for the deposit. Minor details.

The kids are excited about having a pool. There isn't much of a backyard because the pool takes up about 2/3rds of it and the rest is just rock. There is a gate, but it's basically around the porch, not the pool. Which I think will be fine. We don't spend much time in the backyard we currently have. I think we'll enjoy knowing there isn't grass to keep trimmed or even green for that matter.

Life over the next couple weeks will be stressful I'm sure. We really want to get rid of a lot of the crap we have currently. Especially since the house we're moving into is smaller. We don't need "stuff" just floating around all over the place. I may ebay some of it. I think I'll do atleast 1 yard sale before we move. I know we need to take atleast 1 trip to the dump too. Josiah has been off work this week on "vacation"...too bad he doesn't have the next 3 weeks off as well! Maybe we'll be able to get something accomplished though, before he has to go back...

I don't know how much help I will be helping you move since we will be in the same boat. But I am sure we can make some sort of arrangements to help each other out. And I am sure you could get plenty of help from the ward if you wanted. They seem overly willing to help us. So I am sure they would be for you guys too.

I wish I could be there to help you! Moving with kids in the AZ heat is anything but fun, but a POOL! Yay! Sounds like a big blessing all the way around.

Wonderful! I would totally be inviting myself over to swim with you and the kids! Nice how I'm not saying I'd help you move... just use you for your pool! I would help though, if I was there. I love to pack and go through things but I'm easily distracted and it takes me forever! I probably wouldn't be much help after all. But the swimming I'd be good at :)
