No, not as in chilly...I wish!

I woke up Saturday with a slight tickle in my throat. I could tell what it was leading to. A full blown head cold! Atleast I know myself, right? For reals though, I wouldn't have been offended had I been wrong.

I was supposed to start running today w/a friend from the ward. I felt kinda silly when I had to call her last night and back out of our first day. Really, I'm not a wimp. I just knew I'd be struggling for air before we got more than a couple blocks. She was very understanding though. Hopefully I'll be up to par by Wednesday. I am looking forward to this opportunity. I have always enjoyed running. Plus, I have a goal. I want to lose 10-ish pounds by Dec 13th. More would be fine with me, of course, but lets not try and shove the entire elephant in our mouths, ok?

This has got to be the worst time of year though for trying to lose any weight. I mean seriously! Halloween? Thanksgiving? Christmas? All the food/candy/goodies that go along with this time of year is just insane! I'll be honest here. I don't have the best self control when it comes to all the yummy things to eat. I try, but maybe I could try a little harder. Knowing I have a goal in mind might help a little.

This coming weekend is my 11th anniversary as well as my 31st birthday. As much as I was hoping to get out of town for it, I don't think that's going to happen. The car is in serious need of an oil change plus possibly some other work before we could go driving it for that length of time or distance from home. The money that I thought would be available ended up going another direction. I think I was really just hopeful that Josiah would have heard something about this interview he had a few weeks back now and that he'd be making a little more money soon. I lack patience sometimes and get a little ahead of myself. So for now, instead of going out of town, all of the bills are paid and there's gas money to last til next payday, plus a little extra so we can atleast go on a date for our anniversary. For this I am grateful.

I did sit down this morning and planned out all our bills/finances for the next several weeks. I was happy to find that Josiah gets paid the day before Thanksgiving and from that check we should have enough money left over after bills to have some fun with on Black Friday! Very exciting news! I'm also excited about the possibility of going shopping with Josiah this year. The last few years I've gone alone because there was no one to watch the kids. I'm always so sad and lonely being out by myself in all that hustle and bustle. I think we'll be able to bribe Rylie into keeping an eye on all the kids so we can go out together this year. She's very responsible when it comes to that sort of thing.

I made an appointment for myself to go to the doctor. I haven't been to a regular doctor in over 10 years. That's kinda sad. I mean, on one hand, it means I haven't been sick enough to need one. But on the other hand, if I suddenly got really sick? I'd have no place to go! Well atleast not some place that I'd be familiar with. I decided it's time. I'm getting old. Like I mentioned previously....I'm almost 31 for crying out loud! OLD! Anyway, I actually have a spot on my back that I'm slightly concerned about. I don't know that it's anything to worry about, but at the same time, I don't know that it isn't. If it were on my arm or leg or someplace else that I could see it, I probably wouldn't even give it a 2nd thought. But it's not. It's on my back and the best I can see it is in the mirror 3ft away. The soonest I could get into a dermatologist is December 1st. I made that appointment, but also decided to call the Dr's office where Josiah has gone a couple times in the last couple years and make an appointment for myself there. Turns out I made an appointment there 2 years ago (For the same "need to get myself familiar just in case" reason) that I never actually made it to, but they still had my name in the system so they were able to get me scheduled for next Monday. I'll ask him about it and see what he says. If he thinks I should go to a dermatologist about it, then I already have that appointment made.

I picked up the 3rd book in the Twilight series again. I had stopped reading for a while because I was busy with other stuff. I need to get it finished though before the movie comes out. I think the trailer I saw for it the other day said it's going to be out this month. The 23rd maybe? Does that sound right to anyone else? Anyway, I want to see it. But I want to be able to compare it to the books. Or maybe it only covers the first book? I have no clue. But I need to get them finished anyway.

I suppose I've rambled on long enough. If you're still reading, you're indeed a true friend!

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Monday!

The first Twilight movie comes out the 21st, I believe, but it's only the first volume, so no worries. Although you SHOULD keep reading them! :)

I'm glad you're going to the doctor. It's so hard to schedule in time to take care of US, isn't it? Good for you, and I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

And thank you for all the sweet things you said to me on my blog, Sarah. You seriously choked me up. You are such a dear, and I love you so much. I'm so glad you're my sister and that my brother has you for a wife!

Good for you for getting yourself checked out. Hopefully it's something they can remove right there in the office.

Sorry you're feeling yucky! Colds are no fun at all! I'm right there with you not able to workout though. I can't even put my right sneaker on. We'll both get better soon though and back on board with our goals!

I hereby send much love your way like a cool breeze on a hot day. We did not have even one Trick-or-Treater come to our door this year, which seems strange. Maybe, if I had turned the outside light on, had not chained the front gate and had removed the Rottweilers from the front yard, maybe then we would have gotten a visitor. Do ya think? Anyway, now I have to eat this huge bowl of candy bars all by myself. Just what I need, another project! Oh well. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! It used to be, whenever a Trick-or-Treater would reach for one of those, I'd say, No, kid, take two Twix bars instead. They're better for you. I put a razor blade in the Reese's. You don't want that, Plus, they're poisoned. That way, I'd get to keep all the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for myself. This year, no problem. I get all the Reese's AND all the Twix's. Hannah's diet plan better be really effective this year. I'm all signed up like an Army recruit. Sorry you can't come to see me. It's OK. The nice lady from Meals-on-Wheels might come today and spend three minutes with me. And maybe I'll get a catalog in the mail.
