Exercise and Elephants?

I'm trying to motivate myself to work out again, atleast a few times a week, if not daily. It's so hard though because it's something I want to do early in the morning before I shower and before I get the girls up and ready for school. I got up this morning, put in my contacts, brushed my teeth, got changed into my workout attire, and headed into the living room to bust my moves. (I actually don't have any moves, I follow either Carmen Electra or Denise Austin in one of their workout videos.) I think I got about 20 or so minutes in before I HAD to get the girls out of bed. So, I paused it real quick knowing I'd be right back at it. Since I knew they'd excitedly jumped out of bed and get their own clothes picked out and ironed and they'd brush their hair all on their own without even needing to be reminded, and fix their own breakfast without having to ask me first "mom, what's for breakfast?!", and and and....I should know better! So 20 minutes is atleast something. A start anyway. Maybe I'll be able to pull myself out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off next time, rather than hit the snooze 3-4 times, before finally getting up 1/2 hour later.

I've always enjoyed working out. Especially when there are noticeable results. After HS/before I met Josiah, I would go down to the track at the football field and run the bleachers. I totally loved that. It was exhausting, but the results were awesome. I've never had the luck of being a "thin" person but running those bleachers sure helped to balance out my weight a lot better. It also helped me to feel a little more confident about myself, something I've always lacked.

After I had Rylie, I attempted to go to the bleachers again, but it was a lot less convenient. I had always gone with my good friend Lisa and we both worked out at the same time. But neither of us had kids or much of any other responsibilities for that matter. I would love to have a work out buddy nowadays. We could motivate each other and pat each other on the back when we can make it through a work out with out dying. I keep trying to get Josiah to work out with me, but he's more interested in watching me workout than working out himself... We'll see how it goes though. I need to get a scale so I can see my progress. I guess I will be able to see it though with my jeans. I have a couple pair from back when I had lost weight due to severe depression about 3 years ago. I'd love to get back into those. That's my goal. Not sure how attainable that is though, considering my weightloss before was not at all a healthy one, or planned for that matter. For now, I'll be happy if I can fit into 1 size smaller. Better to eat the elephant one bite at a time than to try and chew the whole thing at once, right?

Man, you are digging up the memories for me. I would love to run bleachers with you agian. I am sure you'd kick my butt though, you look as good or better than you did in HS! I laughed when you said Josiah likes to observe but not participate in exercise with you... I can just see him with a bowl of popcorn watching his hottie wife bust a move!!
