Scrapbooking, Cleaning & Birthdays! OH MY!!

Have I mentioned that it takes me for freakin' ever to do ONE scrapbook page of my own?! I started this page last night. I had the pictures and a general idea of what I wanted to do with the page. Then I had to search magazines to get inspiration for a layout. Then I had to find the right papers/ribbons/brads/etc. Once I had all that, I sat there and fiddled (forever) with how I wanted everything to sit on the page. I must have moved everything around a bajillion times. Then I finally gave up. I had to walk away to give my brain time to regain control of itself. I went and watched some season 1 episodes of Lost w/Josiah, before going to bed.

This morning, I had to take Josiah to work so I could go to the store w/the coupons that I was POSITIVE would be in the mail today, (to use them before the ads end tomorrow night,) just to remember (too late) that today was Columbus day so there -WAS- no mail delivery, which means NO coupons!!! So basically it was a waste of gas to take him to work! ARRrrrrrrrgggh! I was bummed to say the least. When we got home though, I sat back down at my scrapbook mess and after a while I was able to finish up my page. I am pleased with the way it turned out. Especially since it was my own work. I didn't scraplift it from anybody. Ok, maybe the idea for the title, but the layout was my idea.

Today was my mom's birthday. In at attempt to feel like a good daughter, I had my family over and we had some pizza. My sister-in-law, Leslie, baked a super yummy cake. White w/chocolate frosting.....my fave! My mom's too...she has good taste! I spent most of the day cleaning for the "party". My little Rylie Roo helped out alot. Actually Friday, after school, I got them to help me clean the living room. So today wasn't quite as painful as it could have been. The kitchen was a mess though and I don't usually ask for help in there, since that's usually a mess caused by me. I figure if I tell them I'm not going to clean the living room because I didn't play with the toys and make the mess, and that's why THEY need to do it, then it's only fair for me to take care of my mess in the kitchen. Alyssa helped put the dishes away from the dishwasher though. Then she also put the whites from the washer into the dryer for me. All she wanted as payment was a bowl of vanilla ice cream w/some strawberry syrup! Rylie straightened the front room, cleaned the "hall" area, restraightened the living room, then asked if she could vaccuum! I love my kids! In the meantime, Camden and Trenton very happily jumped off the furniture, rammed themselves into the walls, and chased each other around the house. Boys will be boys...

I picked up Josiah about 5 minutes early so we could be back home in time for my family to arrive. We picked up the pizza on the way home, and of course it had plenty of time to get room temp before everyone got here. The kids were noisy but had fun playing together. Trenton slept through the entire thing. It wasn't anything terribly exciting, but I miss getting together w/my family for dinner every Sunday like we did for a few years after Josiah and I were married, so it's always nice to get together when we have a good excuse to.

That page is DARLING!! Great job! Sounds like you're busy being a happy mom over there.

BTW, you don't happen to have an old Halloween costume from my mom that would fit Conor, do you?

What size is he? I have Trenton's monkey costume. He wore it when he was about 16 months old. You can see it in my post from Sept 6th. The costume is adorable. I'd be happy to let you borrow it if you promise to give it back. =P

i love it when my kids help clean! it is rare and sometimes i yell but i am with you on , I didn't make the mess, I'm not cleaning it. and thye kitchen messes are usually not mine either, but i help clean that too. my hubby gets these hair brained ideas and doesn't clean up after the popcorn balls he decides to make 3 weeks before. finally i do it. not happy.

love your page way to go being original! even if it took awhile!
and bummer on the coupons not getting there.

i miss the Sunday dinners we used to have as a family too. we do snack night now and get together every other week for snacks. sometimes it is fancy with lots of options and sometimes it is cookies and milk . but it is just about getting together. super fun!

Right now he's wearing 12-18 mo. He'll be 14 1/2 months by then. Would you please let me borrow it? I have no money and no time to make one this year, and all the big kids are with their other parent this year, so I just have Conor to worry about. We didn't dress him up last year, so I wanted him to be something this year. Of course I'll give it back, silly. Do you have my address?

I think I have your current info, you guys are still on Nassau, right? I'll ship it to you as soon as I hear back.

Yes, Nassau it is! Oh, thank you so much! You are relieving one giant worry for me! One down, ten million to go!
