Make-A-Meal-Monday...

...minus a picture.

Growing up, one of my favorite entrees that my mom would fix was Beef Stroganoff. Now that I'm 'all grown up', one of my favorite entrees to fix for my family is Beef Stroganoff. (Usually just referred to as "stroganoff".) It's so simple and really only takes 3 ingredients to make it good. Tonight for dinner I fixed aforementioned meal for my family. YUM!

1 Bag (12oz) extra wide egg noodles
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 lb ground beef, browned

Bring large pot of water to boil. Add noodles and cook for 10-11 minutes, stirring ocassionally.

While the noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef in a frying pan. Season w/salt, pepper, onion powder & garlic powder. (I was out of garlic powder tonight and I really liked how well you could taste the onion powder, so feel free to omit as well.)

Drain noodles and return to pot. Using a large slotted spoon (so oil can drain into frying pan) add ground beef to pot of noodles and then add cream of mushroom. Stir & serve. I added some mozzarella cheese tonight for an extra bit of goodness and it worked.

I know that stroganoff is nothing new or exciting but it IS yummy! I'm sure there are many variations however, and I wanted to share mine...er, my mom's. Or maybe it was her mom's...

Mmmmm!! If you substitute alfredo sauce (Classico is the best!) for the cream of mushroom soup, that is super yummy too!! :D

I have a super great alfredo sauce recipe. Grilled chicken alfredo w/bowtie noodles is another of my favorite things to fix for my family. I may have to try it sometime though, w/the hamburger...for a twist.
