Hmmm....We Must Be Giants!!

Today I had to run by Walmart to pick up some water. It ended up being pretty expensive water! Fifty some odd dollars, expensive. I'm sure if it wasn't clear in the back of the store, it wouldn't have cost nearly as much.

I had my boys with me. (oh, that explains it right there!) As I was heading back to the back of the store I saw...

...for only $1.50 so I had to get it. Right behind that display they had some ice cream cones...

...for $1.00. I figured I may as well pick some up. I knew we had ice cream at home and the kids love it when there are cones to hold the ice cream, so I grabbed a couple boxes and along we went. I picked up this, that and what certainly seemed to be everything else, including the water. Finally we were able to check out and leave the store. Don't worry, I didn't forget to pick up some of these...

...to round out our shopping extravaganza! You may wonder why there are 2 bags. Well, you see...they are oh so good! Therefore, it only makes sense for there to be a bag to sit at Josiah's desk and one to sit at mine!

So I get home, put all of our found treasures away...inlcuding (but not limited to) these...

(Which the boys decided would be the perfect lunch.) After the girls got home from school, I decided it would be a good time to bust out our freshly purchased ice cream cones to fill up with some delicious ice cream. I had to laugh when I opened the box to find...

Two bags, but still, what are we? Hampsters?! I apparently missed this minor detail...

But even though I missed that, I should have figured it out by this...

Whatever though. Things always taste better when they are in size "tiny"...

(Objects in picture are closer than they appear!)

Shortly after taking that last picture...I found Trenton...

It always amazes me the places I find this kid sleeping...that's a whole different post though!

In other news...

Tuesday night the girls had their Spring piano recital...

Rylie played the William Tell Overture and Hedwig's Theme (from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)

Alyssa played The Surprise Symphony and Star Wars, the main theme.

Rylie was pretty nervous but did ok. Alyssa, like I mentioned a couple posts ago, was under practiced but did better than I thought she would. I know I should just be "the perfect mom" and say they did AWESOME! But lets be honest here! I'm a very critical person and I know they could have done better. My parents came though, and that made my girls very happy! Me too, of course! I know it's a long drive and gas is expensive and that my dad wasn't feeling well that evening. So I appreciate that they were able to make it. Thank you, mom and dad!

I completely forgot to mention in my last post (about our busy week last week...) that we had a musical performance to attend also. The first graders have been learning about Egypt and they got to put on a "Temples and Tomes" show for all the families. Alyssa is a cute little Egyptian...

Preschool this week has been pretty exciting. I opted to stray from the curiculum for monday and we celebrated Cinco de Mayo instead. The kids made miniature sombrero's and maraca's and for snack we had nachos and Sangria minus the alcohol. The kids had fun. I was exhausted by the time we were done. But it was fun to do my own craft with them, rather than the silly, all too detailed ones that they send in the packet and expect 4 & 5 year olds to do. Wednesday, we talked about bugs and made little jars of bugs using clear miniature plastic cups and fake bugs. Friday we're making some cute little mother's day gifts. Lots of fun. Mostly I'm just thrilled that it's almost over and this is my last week. I don't think I'll be signing Trenton up for next year.

Anyway, I think that about wraps it all up. OH! Except check out this SOUPer cute bowl I found last night and just HAD to buy...

Ok, I'm done! Hope everyone has a great, almost weekend!

Hi Sarah (and Josiah);
I am making the rounds of everyone to ask if there are any food do's or dont's that I should know about for your family as I try and plan for the get together at my place in a couple of weeks. Anything the kids will or won't eat,or you guys? Let me know, OK? and looking forward to seeing you all. Thanks!

This post sounded like ME walking through walmart! I love the tiny cones. And cinn bears are my favorite and that brand is the best! Good choices. The kids are cute doing their performances and stuff. That kind of thing seems so far off for us but I'm sure it will come on fast.

LOL... I dumb brother who be slow and not get $50 water at first... harhar... that's normally why I don't go to the store... and yet Leslie will still send me from time to time... and in my defense I do manage to get out of the store at times without spending 100 times what I would have had I only bought what I was sent for... 99.9 times what I would have spent is still less than 100 times...
