Christmas 2008

We finally made it down to the Temple lights on the 23rd. It was chilly, but we enjoyed being together and seeing all the lights.

On the way home we took the scenic route, trying to find a neighborhood that was jollily lit, but to no avail. I don't know if it was the rain the night before, the time of evening, or just the way the economy is right now, but we were somewhat disappointed.

Christmas Eve morning started out with us heading to IHOP around 9am.

Somehow we manage to get seated at the exact same table every time we go.

Our morning continued with a trip to Harkins...

We were the first ones there so we picked the best seats!

Decorating cookies for Santa...

(Thanks again, Hannah, for the delicious icing recipe!!)

Santa's plate...

Opening Christmas Eve pj's...

Christmas morning...

After presents were all opened, some sat around playing Rock Band...

While I fixed a delicious breakfast...

Later we headed over to my parents house for a gift exchange and lunch.

Besides the fact that the lamp in our TV died that afternoon and no one has been able to play rock band since that morning or watch any of the movies that we got on the big screen, I think everyone had a good Christmas! Hopefully the replacement bulb will be here before the year is over! :)

Love it! Looks so cozy! I can't wait to post some pics of Christmas, but I can't seem to find the cable to download them from the camera at the moment. Hmmmmm...a Christmas mystery. But Sarah? You make the Van Scivers proud with how you do Christmas right. xo!

The kids look so cute in their Christmas pj's! I love how you set that up every year. You packed in some fun stuff for them Christmas Eve! And it looks like the fun kept coming Christmas day too. I can't wait to see you. I wanted to get past all the Christmas stuff before I barge in on you! Looks like I need to beg that icing recipe off you too so start writing it down if it's not a secret! Those cookies are the cutest!!!

It looks like you guys had a wonderful Christmas! I love how you took so many pictures of the day! I'm the only one who takes pictures here pretty much, so we don't always get as many as we should have. That might be my new year's resolution. To take more pictures!

Cookies look awesome!!!!
